Patna: The state government will recruit about 34,000 Urdu teachers in the primary schools of Bihar
for the benefit of the students studying the Urdu language, the Education Minister P.K. Shahi said today.
The state government has proposed to recruit about 34,000 Urdu teachers in the primary schools to impart education to the students studying the Urdu language, he said in the legislative council in reply to a call attention question by the JD(U) MLC Aslam Azad. Shahi said that there was sanction of one post of Urdu teacher in all secondary and higher secondary schools and the teachers were working on all posts.
A Teachers' Eligibility Test (TET) has been conducted recently to shortlist eligible candidates for their appointment as teachers, including Urdu teachers, against vacancies in future, he said. On the JD(U) MLC's poser that there were no sanctioned posts of Urdu teachers in several university and colleges to cater to academic needs of the students, Shahi said that the process was underway to sanction post of Urdu teachers in the colleges and university where the students were studying the language under the ongoing process of rationalization of teachers.
The process was underway to create 55 posts of Urdu teachers in the colleges under the jurisdiction of Lalit Narayan Mishra Mithila University and 15 posts in the colleges under Patna University, Shahi said
