Ahmedabad: Gujarat Government has submitted a report on Right To Education(RTE) act implementation. Dtate government has claimed in the report that it spends Rs. 9000 cr on primary education for about 56 lakh students studying in 40,000 schools.
Bench of justice V.M.Sahay and Justice A.J.Desai heard the arguments of advovate Prakash Jani about the state government report. In the report state government also claimed that literacy rate is much better in Gujarat in comparison to country's literacy rate. Report listed measures for promoting primary education.
HC while hearing arguments of public prosecutor raised various questions, answer of which will be submitted on Tuesday. Earlier Gujarat High Court has ordered three secretaries of state government to file report about implementation of Right To Education(RTE) act.

City grantable private primary school association of Vadodara filed a writ about free and compulsory education to 6 to 14 years old children. Association has challenged the order of Gujarat Government of 1999 to take fee of Rs.45 per month in grant-aid schools.
